This is the quilt that I made for my cousin's daughter, Dayna. She is a member of the U.S. Air Force and currently serving in Turkey. We are very proud of her serving. I wanted to send to her something that would make her feel loved as she is very far from home and homesick. This is her first time traveling so far from home and I believe her first time outside the United States.
She was happy to get it and liked that I quilted her name into it. Thank you to my quiltmashup friends for the idea of quilting words into a quilt.
The pattern is "Yellow Brick Road" by
Atkinson Design.
I hope this quilt brings Dayna comfort in her travels with the Air Force and reminds her that her family thinks of her often and we all love her and are proud of her.
Great quilt! She will always have a bit of family with her now, no matter how from home she travels.
